Golang Job: Full Stack Developer (Part-time)

Job Summary *:

We have just launched a Beta 2.0 version of our mobile app called where.a.bouts; a mobile application for micro & small businesses that have brick & mortar stores, pop-up stores and/or seasonal market stalls to increase foot traffic and promote in-store/in-person shopping. where.a.bouts is like a digital marketplace without the complexity of ecommerce.

The successful candidate would support LocalOn in the updating and maintenance of the mobile application including developing and deploying new features and fixes. The mobile app is available for both iOS and Android. Currently the app was designed as a web-app with React Native & Laravel as the primary techstack but admin dashboard is on PHP server.

Job Responsibilities *:

• Collaborate with other engineers to continue the development and maintenance of the app
• Work with co-founders to produce and release new application features, and enhancements to improve the user experience
• Rapidly prototype proposed solutions/enhancements
• Work closely with design agency for all UI design related tasks
• Resolve defects/bugs during pre-production, production, and post-release patches
• Ensure the quality of our applications by using various types of automated testing methods in a continuous integration environment
• Participate in code reviews, analysis, and performance tuning

*UI design experience is not a priority skill for this role as we have an agency to do design based work for the app

Required Skills *:

• Solid cross-browser JavaScript (ES6+) skills

• Must have portfolio of web/mobile applications you have developed

• Python
• Terraform / Jenkins CI Pipelines
• High-Performance Application Architecture
• Scaling and cost optimization for the cloud.
• You have experience designing or working with RESTful APIs
• Experience publishing applications in both App Store & Google Play Store

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
